Security on campus: STU mgt to procure vehicle for night patrols

Management of the Sunyani Technical University says it will soon procure vehicles for patrol duties in the night to help tighten security on campus.

Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. ING. Kwadwo Adinkra – Appiah said this when delivering a speech at the 24th matriculation ceremony of the University on Wednesday November 27.

“It is worthwhile to inform you that there has been some security infractions on campus.”

“In response to this, management has put in place measures to protect life and properties on campus”

“Lighting system on the streets has been greatly improved to provide adequate illumination to areas where miscreants may use as their hideout in perpetrating crimes “, the Vice Chancellor said .

“Special arrangement has been put in place for the regional police patrol team to conduct frequent patrols in the University campus to ward off criminals”.

“In addition, management is procuring a vehicle for night patrols by the University security personnel on campus”, Prof. ING. Adinkra noted.

He said a total number of 3,137 admission letters were issued to prospective students. Out of this, 2,299 representing 73.3% were admitted for the 2019/2020 academic year.
