Police in the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo regions have arrested one hundred and seventy (170) people suspected to be drug peddlers.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Chief Inspector Augustine Kingsley Oppong made the disclosure in an interview with Akua Nyarko Abronoma, host of Dinpa anopa bosuo on a Sunyani based Dinpa 91.3FM
The Inspector General of Police , James Oppong Boanum yesterday launched operation Father Christmas to protect lives and properties before ,during and after the Yuletide.
Chief Inspector Oppong said, the officers in the 3 regions have already started their operations to ensure an incident free Christmas and that led to the arrest of the 170 suspects.
The outspoken PRO advised the general public not to rely on hear say but report all suspected criminal cases to the municipal and regional police stations.
He cautioned landlords who rent out their rooms to suspected “sakawa” boys in the Sunyani Municipality to desist from that act before they are dealt with according to the law.
