The Goaso Traditional Council in the Asunafo North Municipality of the Ahafo Region has placed a ban on all noise-making activities ahead of the one-week observation of the late paramount chief, Nana Kwasi Bosomprah.

The announcement was made by Nana Kwabena Frimpong, Nkabomhene of the Goaso Traditional Area and Chairman of the Planning Committee, during a press conference in Goaso. He stated that the ban is part of traditional mourning rites and is meant to ensure a solemn and respectful atmosphere as preparations are made to honor the late chief.

In addition to the ban on noise-making, the council has urged all residents of Goaso and its surrounding communities to wear red or black attire from Wednesday, February 5, until after the one-week celebration. This is a customary sign of mourning and solidarity with the traditional authorities and the bereaved family.

Nana Kwabena Frimpong emphasized that the council will announce the date for lifting the ban at a later time. He also appealed to the public to cooperate fully with the traditional council to ensure a peaceful and dignified observance.

The late Nana Kwasi Bosomprah was a highly respected leader who played a significant role in the development of the Goaso Traditional Area through various initiatives. His passing is a great loss to the people, and the council’s directive seeks to pay him the utmost respect.

Residents and organizations in the area are advised to comply with the directive and avoid loud activities, including drumming, music, and public celebrations, during the mourning period.

For further updates, the public is encouraged to stay informed through official announcements from the Goaso Traditional Council.
