Mim is a town in the Ahafo Region of Ghana. Nana Broffo Appau founded Mim during Asante wars in 1722.
The present Mim township was a typical forest full of palm trees .Nana Broffo and his warriors settled under the palm tree and referred to the place as “Mim” i.e a Twi word meaning “ palm trees”
Ahafo Mim has a very beautiful tourist attraction which is called “Mim Bour “. This Mim Bour is one of a very beautiful tourist site in Ahafo Region . History indicates that , in the past , the paramount chief in Mim used to climb the mountain “( Mim Bour)” to addressed his subjects .
It was also said that when climbed ,he was able to see all the area under his jurisdiction and even as far as Kumasi and Techiman .
The place was abandoned for some years now .So the people of Mim decided to celebrate their new year festive season at this beautiful tourist site to make the world know that there’s a very beautiful tourist site in Ahafo Region.
People from all walks of life came in their numbers to view ,entertained and experience this beautiful tourist place .
