Performance Tracker: It’s untrue that Oda Nkwanta to Gyadem road is constructed-Assembly Member confirms

Hon. Yaw Amo Prince, the Assembly member of Akyem Gyadem in the Birim Central Municipal Assembly, Eastern Region, has raised concerns regarding the reported completion of the road construction project from Oda Nkwanta to Gyadem.
According to Hon. Prince, the project status, as indicated in the government performance tracker, suggests that the “Bitumen surface dressing of Oda Nkwanta to Gyadem road of 7.00km” was started in 2020 and completed in 2022. However, he has asserted that this information is inaccurate and that the road construction project is far from being completed.
Hon. Prince revealed that he had numerous discussions with their Member of Parliament, Hon. Alexander Kwasi Acquah, regarding the initiation of the project. However, he encountered obstacles when requesting the Curriculum Vitae (CV) of the constructor. Despite efforts from the community’s Chief and elders to contact the constructor for further information, obtaining the CV proved to be a challenge.Of particular concern is a hazardous hill known as “Teacher Bepɔ,” which poses a significant risk of accidents due to erosion damage to the road.
Hon. Prince emphasized the danger posed by this hill and questioned the rationale behind the government’s assertion that the project is completed.”I cannot understand why the government would report a project as completed when it clearly does not exist in reality,” Hon. Prince remarked. In response to these concerns, Hon. Prince stated that he is collaborating with a team to investigate the matter thoroughly. The investigation aims to shed light on the discrepancies surrounding the reported completion of the road construction project and to determine the actual status of the project.
