Photos:Timber Logs Fall on Motorbike in Oppongkrom, Resulting in One Death
Tragedy struck in Oppongkrom, located in the Asunafo North Municipality of the Ahafo Region, when timber logs fell from a truck onto a motorbike, resulting in the death of one person.The incident occurred at dawn on Wednesday around 4 AM.
According to Mim District Police Commander, DSP Michael Taku, the motorbike, carrying two men, was escorting the timber truck when the accident occurred.He stated that one person is receiving treatment while the deceased has been sent to the morgue.
DSP Taku advised timber truck drivers to check their vehicles’ conditions before setting out on the roads and to take their trucks to fitting shops for regular maintenance. He also urged them to attend police-organized programs designed to educate them on road safety.
