In the midst of heightened tensions and violence during the limited voter registration period in Ghana, concerns about the upcoming election’s security have been raised.

However, local authorities are taking decisive steps to address these worries.Mim District Police Commander, DSP Michael Taku, recently addressed these concerns by assuring residents that the police force is fully committed to ensuring a violence-free election.

Despite the troubling incidents during the registration process, DSP Taku remains optimistic about the measures in place to maintain peace and security during the upcoming election.

“We are aware of the concerns raised by the public, especially after witnessing incidents of violence during the voter registration period. However, I want to assure everyone in our district that the police are prepared and will do everything possible to prevent any form of violence during the election,” stated DSP Taku.

These concerns stem from recent clashes and disturbances reported in various parts of the country during the voter registration exercise.”We understand the importance of a peaceful election and the impact it has on our communities.

Our officers are undergoing specialized training, and we are working closely with other security agencies to ensure that everyone can exercise their right to vote without fear,” DSP Taku added.
