Support to boost the growth of tourism industry in Ghana – Dr. Awal to the media
The Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture is actively seeking media support to boost the growth of the Tourism Industry in Ghana.
The Ministry has introduced the Destination Ghana Project which aims to draw in 4 million visitors both domestic and international to various tourist sites across the country.
Dr. Ibrahim Awal Mohammed, the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture made this announcement during an Editors’ forum designed to rally media’s support for the industry’s expansion.
According to him, he primary goal of the Destination Ghana Project is to generate substantial revenue surpassing $6 billion and to create over 150,000 job opportunities within the tourism sector.
He added that the government seeks to launch a GH100 million tourism enterprise project to encourage the youth to bring up ideas on how to improve tourism in the country.
