Voter Registration Numbers Dip in Asunafo North

The Electoral Commission (EC) commenced the limited voters registration process in Asunafo North just three days ago, aiming to register eligible voters ahead of upcoming elections.
However, the initiative faced significant hurdles due to network connectivity issues, hampering the registration progress. On the inaugural day of registration, Asunafo North managed to register 87 individuals despite grappling with persistent network challenges.
This initial success was marred by subsequent difficulties, leading to a notable decrease in registration numbers. According to Mr. Gideon Yeboah, an EC officer in Asunafo North, only 56 people were registered as of Wednesday due to the ongoing network-related impediments.
In an interview on the ‘Rejoice Amansan Ntie’ morning show hosted by Yaw Omono-Asamoah, Mr. Yeboah acknowledged the challenges faced but also highlighted the relative success achieved considering the circumstances. He emphasized that despite the decrease in registration figures, Asunafo North outperformed other regions in terms of registration rates.
Mr. Yeboah further elaborated on their proactive approach to address these challenges, mentioning ongoing engagements with various stakeholders, particularly party executives.
These interactions aim to identify and mitigate the obstacles hindering the registration process, ensuring a smoother and more inclusive registration experience for eligible voters in Asunafo North.
