The Asunafo North Ghana Health Service (GHS) have launched a six-day Municipal Measles vaccination and Vitamin A supplement campaign to improve the general health and survival of children.

The campaign, aimed at ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all ages to help reduce the number of measles cases in the municipality.The campaign, expected to start from October 2 to 6, 2024 is targeting at immunizing children from 9 months to under 5 years in all the 6 sub District.

Asunafo North Municipal health promotion officer Mrs Sarah Opare Addo, reiterated the safety and effectiveness of the measles vaccines and noted that the immunisation would take place in health centres and at a number of temporary posts set up in schools, markets, bus stations, churches and all communities.

She urged Ghanaians especially parents to ensure that they take their eligible children for the immunization to help prevent and eliminate measles

Sarah Addo added that health insurance are now covering family planing so women can access any health facilities for free family planing
