Methodist Church Launches Election Peace Campaign in Mim
The Methodist Church in Mim, located in the Asunafo North Municipality of the Ahafo Region, has taken a proactive stance towards ensuring peaceful elections with the launch of a dedicated peace campaign.
The campaign, inaugurated at the Methodist church in Mim, saw the participation of various stakeholders including the Asunafo North Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Members of Parliament (MP), representatives from religious bodies, and traditional leaders (Nananom).
The primary objective of the initiative is to foster peaceful elections not only within the Asunafo North Constituency but across Ghana as a whole.Mr. Gideon Yeboah, the Electoral Commission (EC) officer for Asunafo North, elucidated on the meticulous preparation and processes involved in organizing the upcoming elections. His insights provided clarity on the procedural aspects aimed at ensuring a smooth electoral process.
Inspector Kwadwo Boakye, the Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), issued a stern warning against any form of violence before, during, and after the elections. He emphasized the presence of a significant deployment of security personnel throughout the Ahafo Region, cautioning potential troublemakers to refrain from disrupting the electoral peace.
