The Member of Parliament for Asutifi North Constituency in the Ahafo Region, Hon Patrick Bannor, has instituted a Teacher’s Award Scheme aimed at motivating and acknowledging the dedicated teachers in his constituency.
The program, which recently took place at Gambia number 2 in the Asutifi North District, brought together educators, officials, and the local community to celebrate the invaluable contribution of teachers to the education sector.
For the third consecutive year, Hon Patrick Bannor honored over 40 teachers for their tireless and selfless dedication to providing quality education. The awards were nothing short of remarkable, with the recipients receiving a range of items, including refrigerators, LED TVs, citations, and certificates of honor.
A motorbike awarded to the overall best teacher in the district, Mr. Kwabena Addai Frimpong, a teacher at Kenyasi no 1 Anglican JHS.
Speaking at the Award Scheme, Hon Bannor highlighted the challenges faced by the education sector in the district. However, his actions spoke louder than words as he demonstrated his commitment to overcoming these challenges. He pledged to continue this initiative, promising to reward the teachers annually to keep them motivated and inspired.

The Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. George Yaw Boakye, acknowledged the positive impact of the MP’s motivation, noting that it has inspired teachers to excel further. He also encouraged teachers to lead exemplary lives, emphasizing the importance of their role as mentors and role models for the younger generation.
