The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has confirmed the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Yendi Constituency, Mr. Farouk Aliu Mahama, as its parliamentary candidate for the December 7, 2024 parliamentary elections.The parliamentary primary held on Saturday January 27 in the Constituency, was characterised by violence and destruction of ballot papers, a situation which led to a decision to suspend the announcement of the results.Some delegates and supporters of the ruling NPP in the Yendi Constituency subsequently urged the national executives of the party to nullify the parliamentary primary for the Constituency.However, a press release dated April 9, 2024 and signed by the General Secretary, Mr. Justin Frimpong Kodua said, ” The National Executive Committee has confirmed Hon. Farouk Aliu Mahama as the party’s parliamentary candidate for the constituency.”
