Ahafo Regional Minister Emphasizes Unity and Commitment as NPP Prepares for 2024 Election

In a recent address at the Ahafo Regional Youth Wing and TESCON Conference in Goaso, the Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon George Boakye, highlighted the importance of unity and commitment within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as they prepare for the 2024 Presidential election. He drew attention to the lessons learned from the 2008 election loss, attributing it to disunity and lack of cohesion within the party.
The Ahafo Regional Minister reminded party members of the challenges the NPP faced in 2008, which led to their defeat. He pointed out that disunity, internal disagreements, and a sense of not benefiting from the party’s efforts were contributing factors. To avoid history repeating itself, he urged supporters of different Presidential aspirants to prioritize the overall interests of the party during their campaign activities.
Hon. George Boakye directed a significant portion of his message towards the youth and members of TESCON (Tertiary Students Confederacy), stressing their role in shaping the party’s future. He encouraged them to uphold the NPP’s values and work together to ensure the party’s success in the upcoming election. He emphasized the need for a unified front to “break the 8,” a term used to denote winning the election after two consecutive terms of another party’s rule.
Seth Oduro, the Ahafo Regional Youth Organizer of the NPP, further reinforced the Regional Minister’s message. He urged TESCON and the Youth Wing to act as NPP brand ambassadors, highlighting the party’s numerous flagship policies that have positively impacted the nation. Some of these policies include the restoration of allowances for Nurses and Teacher trainees, the implementation of free Senior High School (SHS) education, advancements in digitalization, and initiatives like “Planting for Food and Jobs.”As the NPP gears up for the 2024 general election, the Ahafo Regional Minister’s call for unity and commitment serves as a crucial reminder of the pitfalls the party faced in the past. By heeding these lessons and focusing on the party’s core policies and values, the NPP aims to secure a victory in the upcoming election and continue driving positive change for the nation.
