Asunafo North Municipality Launches Mosquito Net Distribution Campaign to Fight Malaria

The Asunafo North Municipality has embarked on a significant campaign aimed at distributing long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (LLIN) to combat malaria effectively. The registration process for this initiative is set to commence on Thursday, April 18th, and will run until Monday, encompassing a week-long effort to cover all communities within the district.
This proactive measure is part of a comprehensive strategy implemented by the Asunafo North Municipal Health Directorate to curb the prevalence of malaria in the region.Mrs. Sarah Opare Gyan, the Health Promotion Officer for the municipality, made this announcement during a stakeholders’ engagement session, underlining the importance of community involvement in eradicating malaria.
Trained registration assistants equipped with identification tags and distinctive T-shirts will be deployed across the district to facilitate the registration process efficiently. Residents are urged to participate actively in the registration exercise, as their involvement is crucial in the collective effort to eliminate malaria from the country.
Mrs. Opare Gyan emphasized the significance of not engaging in the sale of mosquito nets distributed during this campaign, as these nets are essential tools in preventing mosquito-borne diseases, particularly malaria. By ensuring that these nets reach the intended recipients and are used correctly, the community can significantly reduce the incidence of malaria cases.
