Asunafo North Municipal Cooperative Cocoa Farmers, also known as Cocoa Life, donated 70,000 exercise books to schools in the Asunafo North Municipality of the Ahafo Region.
This generous act is part of their corporate social responsibility in the education sector.
Presenting the exercise books at Asuadei,Mr Daniel Amponsah Gyinayeh, President of the union said the aim is to reduce the financial burden on parents by providing educational materials and to promote education among children, with the ultimate goal of decreasing child labor in the region.
The donation was a result of a survey conducted in schools to identify their specific needs and provide appropriate support.
Mr Gyinayeh added that the cooperative is dedicated to assisting the children of farmers in pursuing higher education, as they have already presented 700 cedis each to 700 beneficiaries who are studying in tertiary institutions.
In addition to the exercise books, the Cocoa Life also plans to provide sanitary pads to 300 school girls in need within the Asunafo North Municipality. This support will undoubtedly contribute to better education and well-being for the students in the region.
The Asunafo North Deputy Education Director,Mr Asanaba Imoro expressed gratitude for the cooperative’s thoughtful gesture, highlighting the positive impact it will have on the educational landscape in the area.
Parents of the beneficiaries in tertiary institutions also expressed their appreciation for the support their children received, which helps lessen their financial burden.
